Grade II listing, built in 1889, at present a public library, once the Victoria Institute and Public Baths, of brick with terracotta dressings under plain tiled roofs. Three storeys with Jacobean detailing. Terracotta freize over windows 'FREE LIBRARY PUPLIC BATHS. ART AND SCIENCE INSTITUTE'. Greengate Street face, wrought-iron sign ' THOMAS NASH PEAKE GAVE THIS 1901' and on the obverse, 'TUNSTALL FREE LIBRARY'. This building is a significant example of the provision of municipal facilities in the late C19th.
